    • According to "The Reverend William Segraves and His Descendants" by Savannah Segraves Day, Thomas S. Segraves and Elizabeth "separated a few weeks later" after their marriage and that Tom had replied later when ask about the separation: "she had too many strings on her banjo."
      Lizzie never remarried and worker as a housekeeper. She died in Smyth County, VA on 1 Jan 1929. Her death record says she died on 31 Dec 1928. [1]
